The Academy
The Academy is a dynamic, cross-district learning experience that engages district leadership teams in new learning and problem solving for some of their biggest talent challenges: How do you get and keep great educators? How do we ensure that students with the highest needs have equal access to top teachers? How can district leadership teams best support school leaders in their role as talent leaders?
The foundation of the Academy experience is a 3-day convening held twice per year, in the spring and fall, where participants are immersed in highly interactive learning opportunities with their own team, as well as with other districts from across the nation. Recent Academies have focused on Retaining Great Teachers; Making High-Needs Schools Competitive for Talent; and Building a More Diverse & Effective Applicant Pool.
To support implementation of the Academy learning, districts also receive practical guides and templates designed to bring the learning back to their teams, as well as have access to experts for added support.
District teams and individuals have multiple options for joining the Academy experience – and can join the Academy for one year or more or choose to attend just one Academy convening.
Our next VIRTUAL Academy
March 9-11, 2021Every Academy convening includes:
Three days of programming and supplementary tools, which includes team and individual planning time, as well as cross-district learning experiences
- Hotel accommodations for three nights
- 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 2 dinners, and snacks
- “Office hours” with USHCA team members to discuss pressing challenges or seek expert guidance
